Being a Progressive, but Running as a Democrat

2018 will mark my second attempt to run for state office as a Democrat in a red state. It is quite odd. The Republicans vote out of habit, and the Democrats have turned into Republicans. I plan to make one of my platforms to legalize medical marijuana in the state of Indiana.
Understand that this would be like trying to get the Duck Dynasty guy to officiate a same sex wedding. The information tells me that this is something people want, and I am very passionate about the will of the people. Should make for an interesting year. Wish me luck!
