Consistency and Branding
Hello my friend, today I want to share with you how important consistency is to a successful branding. Yesterday I was inspired to talk about this today. So, take for instance as a customer you bought a can of Coca-cola and instead of having the really nice and refreshing coca-cola taste, it was tasting like crap and another day you bought another one this time you found harmful substances inside the drink, now how would you feel? Of course you are going to feel bad and irritated and you are sure going to start feeling bad about the coca-cola brand which promises nice and tasty refreshment, which would make you go for other alternatives. So that is that, when you deliver a brand promise, you want to make sure you stay consistent in delivering that promise to boost your brand equity (in simple term trust). When you don’t deliver on your brand promise on a consistent bases you would start to lose consumers trust on your brand, which could wreck-up your brand totally before you know it. Now, to save yourself from losing brand trust, you should be consistent in delivering your brand promises, both to your customers and especially your work force because they are the once who actually represent your business out there and interact with your customers, so for consistency I highly recommend you make your work force happy as an entrepreneur by delivering your brand promise to them. Another form of inconsistency in branding you want to make sure you always avoid is not to be consistent in the way you position your brand. You want to be clear about what your brand represents so you don’t look unsure about what you are doing. Also, just keep on doing what you are doing that actually works don’t be a business that changes logos every 2 to 3 months, or even slogans or maybe vision and mission statements. You might be wondering, do business really do those, well yes, I don’t want to mention names but most inexperience starts-ups do it. Note: With that type of branding system you are simply confusing the consumers as to what you truly represent and you sure can’t build brand equity that way in any bit which is very important for your brands survival in the both the short and especially the long run. Consistency is the key to successful branding. So the questions are; are you delivering your brand promise? And are you consistent? Thank you for reading this post.
