Limited offer

What is up with all these limited offers online. Its all limited. Limited stock, limited period, limited edition and so on.
When I see limited stock offers, I think to myself, "Well, I would like to buy it, but its limited stock. I shouldn't buy it because then somebody who really needs it won't get it .I don't really need it anyway, I just want it.
The limited period and editions aren't appealing either, because a month later, you see the same list of items. "Did you make this limited edition again or didn't anybody buy your last batch? Was it not good?".
You had black Fridays, then came cyber Monday. Now you have "black November" and "early Christmas".
How about the whole year ? thats limited. You mean the actual price is limited?
