Curiosity became the largest and most modern Mars explorer robot. This rover landed on the surface of the red planet August 6, 2012 and continues to work collecting data. The motors are driven radioactive isotope batteries that will not be exhausted. Curiosity has now explored 17 km of Mars surface and remains fit and full of energy.
