Starting in Captain Marvel #43 - written by Kelly Thompson with art by Sergio Davila and Arif Prianto - Carol and a crew of iconic heroes have been on a mission to save Rogue and Binary from a group of Brood who are rebelling against the order of peace established by King Broo. Carol, Psylocke, Hazmat, Jessica Drew, Wolverine, Polaris, and Gambit were tricked into a Brood trap, swarmed before they could react... and the next thing the heroes knew, they were at a party thrown by the alien Shi'ar, for no apparent reason. This is the first time Carol is seen in her stunning "Hellfire Gala"-like formal wear, alongside her rescue teammates who are all also looking stylish. Of course, everything is not as it seems, and the party is revealed to be a false reality, acting as a psychic cage.Sadly, Captain Marvel's amazing runway look does not stick around for long, only showing up in the pages of Captain Marvel #44 and #45, as well as in a gorgeous variant cover by Stephen Segovia. Carol's "Shi'ar Gala" look is absolutely breathtaking, with the powerful cosmic hero donning a stunning white and gold dress with matching arm-length gloves, topped off with a regal red cape, gleaming earrings, and an impressively high ponytail. Carol's Shi'ar dream dress could be the perfect choice for a cosplayer who wants to go as a high-fashion variant of Captain Marvel, especially since her official costume for the gala wasn't quite as grand.
Carol's Official Hellfire Costume Was Way More Casual
Carol Danvers actually did have a Hellfire Gala costume, designed for the 2022 Hellfire Gala by the talented Erica D'Urso, but her look was a lot more casual than some of her contemporaries, and her Shi'ar dream look gives much more "glam" than her official Hellfire outfit did. Hopefully Captain Marvel will remember the gorgeous dress and cape she wore in her Brood-created dream reality after the team rescue Binary and return to Earth, and she can ask Jumbo Carnation to recreate the look for 2023's Gala! Carol Danvers has had many different costumes over the years, but her high-fashion Captain Marvel outfit seen in her false Shi'ar Gala dream is most fashionable look of all time, one that would be a delight for any cosplayer to create and show off at the next Con.
