Week 5 of my Infinity War Preparation – 2018 MCU Re-Watch
I can't imagine ever not enjoying this film; especially as part of a chronological MCU rewatch. It just brings together the characters, events and themes of Phase One so well.
Not only does it build on what came before but, thanks to later films and shows, it sows seeds for events and themes later down the (time)line.
But this still works as it's own film. Everyone is used well and given their own arcs, gradually assembling into the Avengers, perfectly echoing Phase One as a whole.
To Infinity: The biggest push towards Infinity War yet. Not only is the Space Stone (aka Tesseract) front and centre throughout, and we will later discover another Infinity Stone was heavily featured, we also get the first sight of the MCU's Big Bad - Thanos!
Mid/Post-Credit Scene(s): I think this was the first MCU film to have a Mid and Post-Credit Scene. Although it would get out of hand by 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2' it works well here. First we get the big reveal and then afterwards a fun epilogue.
