My son has missed zero days of school.

He's marked down as "absent", for being "present, mask-less" in one of his classes for two days. He claims it was just for a couple of minutes each day.

If this affects truancy, which it appears to, we're signing the exemption form (we weren't going to). Not because we don't want him to wear a mask, but because we're not wanting to deal with court because of some days he didn't listen.

The net result will probably be him wearing a mask less by being given permission to take it off. I feel like this is the exact opposite result that those setting the policy want.

If my son goes to school and sometimes takes off his mask for too long, I'm limited in what I can do there.

I can talk to him about it, and tell him not to repeat those actions, but at the end of the day? I feel like he still might act the wrong way enough times for it to be a thing.

I'm going to call his school Tuesday for better clarity on what this means. But from what I've seen on his skyward account? Seems to be a thing.
