The truth of materialism

in materialism •  7 years ago

We all have been guilty of wanting the newest phone or the newest shoes. We now live in a society were happiness is based on how many things we own. And i mean its not our fault many things influence us to think like that. From birth to adulthood companies our parents to our peers have influenced us to think like this. Most of the time our parents dont know how to teach us about money and schools dont ethier. But one things is for sure having and wanting the newest everything is not going to make u feel complete. Its was hard for me to reliaze to not be stuck of this endless cycle of working and spending on things i dont really need then working harder to get more and more. Its basically slavery. Also most of the time designer clothes is jacked up so high in price its not even worth to spend 300$ on shoes that cost 30$ to make. Its like someone trying to sell u a white shirt that cost like 10$ for 100$.Screenshot_20180104-104426.jpg

I think materialism is fuelled by culture and things we see on tv, lifestyles people live. They seem happy with these material things so in search of our own happiness, we also go after the houses and the cars and flashy shoes
