Factoring Quadratic Trinomials Series - Lesson 1

A quadratic trinomial is a polynomial with three unlike terms and degree two. For example;   X²  + 3x + 3 is a quadratic trinomial. First term is   X²  which is called the quadratic term, second term is +3x which is called the linear term and third term is 3 which is called the constant term.

Factoring a quadratic trinomial is the reverse of "FOIL" (I had a post on FOIL on how to multiply two binomials). In other words, once a trinomial is factorize we get two binomials as the factors of the trinomial.

I have explained below the very easy process to factorize a standard trinomial;

This is the first lesson on a series of factorizing trinomials lessons.

I love this simple explanation.

Thanks a lot @rebenalexander.
