Graphs from Algebra to Calculus... Not for Rocket Scientists... For Anyone! (Algebra Piece)

in mathematics •  7 years ago  (edited)

Graphing was always my favorite part of math back in high school. Here is everything you need to know! So, I've decided to make a tutorial on everything I know for future reference of my students and friends on Steemit! Enjoy everyone!

GRAPHING IN ALGEBRA

The first thing you learn about is slope of a line. This comes in handy in the Calculus portion of this lesson. If you can understand this, then you can understand that. Anyways, the variable m is the slope of a line, there are two ways you can find the slope: (1) Graphically by counting, or (2) Given 2 points. Here is the definition of slope as a mathematical equation:

Here are the two examples:

You can graph a line with a table by plugging in values into x. Like this:

Lastly, you can use graphing to solve a system of equations. This is good for maximization skills in business and other areas. Here is an example:

Here are some extra videos for support, if you need them. I made these many moons ago. Haha.

Thank You for Viewing Steemers! Next one will be up soon! Share with your kids! Even if they are young, if they can add, subtract, multiply, divide, and read they can do this! It is not the teachers fault, it is not the kids fault, help them succeed!
Best wishes!
