Week 8 of my Infinity War Preparation – 2018 MCU Re-Watch
I actually re-watched this not so long ago as prep for the release of Thor: Ragnarok so I wasn't that keen on watching it again so soon. Since the last watch was to focus on Thor's story, I decided to use this watch to focus on Infinity War - and it worked rather well.
To Infinity: The whole film is essentially an origin story for the Aether aka the Reality Stone. We get to find out about where it came from, it's power, and potential.
Mid/Post-Credit Scene(s): The mid-credit scene is the first time Infinity Stones are mentioned in the MCU, with confirmation that both the Tesseract and the Aether are Infinity Stones. The Collector (later to be seen in Guardians of the Galaxy) says "One down, five to go" but for the viewers it's actually three down with the Space Stone and Reality Stone confirmed and the Mind Stone seen but not yet revealed...
The post-credit scene is a fun little throwaway that links back to the Frost Giants from the first film.
Next Up: Captain America: The Winter Soldier
