"Reality" is actually something which the human brain builds, using imperfect, flapping, jeopardized data coming from our nerves. To build reality out of this very loosy perception is most of the job for the brain. It takes more or less 60% of all the energy the brain consumes. Of course, if someone else helps the brain to understand, the brain will save lot of work. So, anyone which offers easy solutions, easy schema, easy reading of reality, has very high chance to succeed. Last but not least, to build such a simple models is also what the brain tries to do by itself, to save energy. So , not only fake news will keep on going and working: when absent on the media, lot of lazy brains will start producing fake news, until they help brains to save energy.
