I do believe firmly that a person or media outlet that is well intentioned, honest, and occasionally wrong is more defensible than one with malicious intent that happens to be right. When it comes to people and media outlets that are maliciously intended, lying, and wrong, it's a no brainer -- right?
Yeah, Joe Rogan has gotten some shit wrong. His guests have gotten shit wrong. Still, I think the dumbest thing that I've personally heard Rogan say thus far was that he was gonna vote for Bernie Sanders. I've never had the impression that he was lying or had bad intentions. He's just been wrong from time to time which you can expect from somebody who's producing twenty hours of content a week.
There are, on the other hand, plenty of liars with bad intentions that we simply accept.
How is the fact that MSNBC literally tried to dox the Rittenhouse jury not something that we're all irate about? They knew fucking well what they were doing. They were trying to intimidate twelve people and their families into making a decision about the life of a human being in the most polarizing trial so far this century. That's a threat to one of the core values of a free society; but, we're all obsessed with Joe Rogan.
CNN tried to keep governor Cuomo's sexual abuse scandle out of public attention for as long as possible and taked Cuomo's brother with reporting on the allegations.
Even with internet platforms, nobody's talking about The Young Turks. Yeah, that platform is stacked with a bunch of morons with delusions of grandeur; so, sometimes they're just honestly wrong. Still, Cenk is an Armenian genocide denier who continues to deny that he wrote several papers denying the genocide and denying that his whole network is named for the political group that was guilty of the genocide. What's more, no, I don't believe that Ana Kasparian just got it wrong when she was reporting for fifteen months that Rittenhouse chased and murdered Joseph Rosenbaum and that she finally realized that it was Rosenbaum chasing Rittenhouse half way through the trial. I think she lied until they realized that they were facing serious defamation lawsuits and she made that statement so they would have something to fall back on in court.
Still, we're all talking about Joe Rogan.
Again, if you're honest and wrong, that's just being human. Every media outlet on the planet got the facts of the shooting of Jacob Blake wrong at the beginning. That's somewhat forgivable so long as you actually print a retraction. It's when media outlets double down on their bullshit when they know that they're wrong that we have a problem. When media outlets try to tamper with life or death situations and intimidate innocent people, that's unforgivable and that's why MSNBC shouldn't exist anymore.
Let's get our priorities straight people.
