This is one issue that I don't understand why the so called supporters of international trade don't address.
Why could a medical product approved by one country be illegal in another for personal use? I think of the case of Laura Plummer, the enlish girl still rotting in an egyptian jail because she wanted to gift non prescription pain killers to her fuck friend.
I mean it is stupid when anyone need medications and can't go to certain places because those medications are illegal.
I understand what ever protectionist or consummer safety issue, but when a person travel he or she should be able to take what ever medicine is allowed in her/his country to a foreign land and not have to check with foreign border agents what is legal and what isn't.
This time it was a poor stupid english girl caught at the egyptian border, but if it was the CEO of HSBC or Barclay traveling through egypt with the same pain killers? I mean what an hypocrisy.
But still the issue of medication worldwide is important... I hope that one day some politicians will at least think about it.
approved by the fda, can be taken anywhere, and if foreign state not happy with it... watch the sky and the horizon may light up at night...
this is an issue for Rex... Which friend of Rex medication is illegal and where? what old jerry use a plant to combat pain from osteoarthritis... It would be tragic for the captors to have to forward the file to the pentagon for liberation...
