Some needed rearrangements to my bedroom, prior to my hip surgery

in medicine •  6 years ago

In a few weeks, I will be having a complete Hip Replacement Surgery,
in my right hip.
In anticipation of this and the pain and increased loss of mobility
during the recovery, I decided to rearrange my bedroom.
It is a small space, I have quite a bit stuffed in here. As it was,
I could get in and around easy enough, but I wanted to be sure, and
I needed an excuse to clean up
(dusting underneath things requires movements that are very painful for me at most times)

So for three hours, I slowly lifted, slid, pulled,

mopped and vacuumed things, (changed my linens as well)
until I got things as you'll see in the end here.
It is a lot better now, methinks.

Thanks makes good sense to get organized in advance to make it easier for you when in recovery mode

That's the plan anyway. Thanks Jay.

MOst welcome and wishing you all the best for your surgery and a full recovery :)

So far, I am not feeling any fear or trepidation, instead I am looking forward to being
Able to get back to living, with no or relatively little pain.
Part of me wants to prepare for the possibility of dying on the table (it Does happen a lot)
With even minor procedures, but this is a major medical institution here in Atlanta,
And I am calm (so far) inside. I still need to make plans for a family member to have
A key to my place, just in case.

I call this, "The Hand of Death" getting an early grip"

Its natural to be nervous but i have a few friends who have had it done and it made such a big change for their lifes, even for my small angioplasty Procedures I had had ( for my legs not heart) there was that little bit of nerves but it made a huge difference for me, so stay calm and be ready for the recovery and so much more mobility :)
