There's a clear difference in the health of chickens and the result of their keeping conditions via their eggs. Pictured are eggs from "cage-free" and from "pasture-raised" eggs, both touted as organically raised.
As you can see, the local pasture raised eggs are dark and rich in color versus the more-yellow cage-free eggs. Obviously, just because cage-free eggs are purported to be better than normal eggs, there is little difference as the chickens are kept in confined spaces and are fed specialty diets.
The pasture-raised eggs are the winner in that they are more nutrient, chemical free, natural diet fed, and overall more appealing to utilize in a clean-cooking environment.
