However: with the price being so high, your posts will make somewhat close to 0.5 STEEM per SBD.
For a 50%/50% post @ 10 SBD, you'll get 5 SBD and 10 STEEM. ( - the curation share )
When the price was lower, you made a ton more STEEM per post.
Back when the price was 0.1 $ / STEEM, a 1$ post would have generated the same amount of STEEM.
Also, we have a limited rewards pool and there are more people to share with now.
Apart from that, it's good to see STEEM finally back at this price level

Isn't the rewards pool pretty much full again? Rewards have been fairly good lately as it looks like the whales are still not voting so much, but we are seeing some 'mega posts' again. I've been selling some SBD for Steem, but I'm watching the market as the exchange rate for that is improving. I wonder if/when we will see SBD back down near a dollar.

What I meant was that the more people post, the smaller your share will be.
The pool seems full, but the higher payouts measured in SBD are the result of the higher price of STEEM.
If you were getting 10 STEEM for your posts at 0.1 SBD per STEEM, then that was a 1$ post.
Now, you'd need a 10$ post for the same amount of STEEM.
I started trading in my SBD payouts for BTC.
I expect an overcompensation effect; The price for 1 SBD might drop below 1 USD, once the demand is covered - We might actually have too much SBD then.
I then plan on buying back into SBD or STEEM.

For now I'm doing well, but I expect to see changes as we get many more users. I'm glad I was able to get this much Steem so far. At some point I will be looking to spend some of it. That may be via Bitcoin depending on what vendors will accept. I hope to see the Steem marketplace grow.

This is what I check and the "reward_balance" is increasing every day. Not sure where I read about it last but heard someone mention something along 40% a few days ago.
