We are often angry with those who have hurt or wounded us. We may feel angry towards those who hurt us long ago and those who hurt us on a daily basis. We are angry about injustice and our soul screams that isn't fair! But others are not always the source of our anger. The Bible tells us to be at peace with God, ourselves, and our fellow man.
I Am Mad at Me
Are you angry at yourself? Many people are. In fact, it is probably safe to say that more people have a rift with themselves than those who are totally at peace with themselves. Why? As we have discussed previously, we have unrealistic expectations, and we compare ourselves with others and feel that we don't measure up. We may have deep rooted shame for something we either did or something that was done to us. We feel so guilty that we become angry at ourselves. Most often, though people are angry with themselves because they don't approve of and they don't know how to receive God's forgiveness and power to overcome their unacceptable behavior.
