Developed asian countries vs Third words asian countries

No patience

Indonesia is a country, where people grew up without a social mentality. It has been so rooted in their mindset that you can't even blame them for their lack of NOT being selfish basically.
Waiting patiently in line for the bus, train or any kind of public transportation and waiting lines do not exist in Indonesia. They push themselves through as fast as they can. It has mainly no use, since the ride will not get faster to their destination and it won't take less time to get in. They do not think in that way.
In the elevators, or door openings, they rarely wait until the people come out first, they want to go in first.
In the upper area of the picture in the top( Singapore )they even have a green line, where the People can go out, and behind the red line people need to wait . In the bottom area (Indonesia) its really without rules. It proves how ignorant they are to learn and I don't think it will ever change.
The government allows it and does nothing about it. So there is nobody apparently in the local community that has a problem with this.

Driving a vehicle without traffic rules

In indonesia a driving licence for a car is not done by taking lessons and get a driving test, no. You but the driving licence for around 300.000 (20 euro's).
All people in Indonesia do that, so you can't expect anyone to know the rules. In the traffic you will really know the Indonesian mentality.
But that would count for other developing countries as well. They do not care about any traffic rules, turning left/right doesn't mean they will wait and allowing vehicle's that drive straight can go first.
Motorcycles, bicycles, cars and trucks go mixed together and the same road, even the smallest roads from 2 ways.
99%of the people are so selfish that they try to be the first. All traffic rules you learned in the west, you need to totally forget in Indonesia. You can't expect the local people that never learned them to follow you. We stay foreigners and they will never care about following the rules.
Many times i see on a 2way multi lane, they will just go on each side in the wrong direction that eventually they checkmate themselves as you see in the picture above. see this picture.

Zebra lanes everywhere in Indonesia

A zebra lane, is just decoration for the road or a place to do suicide (see picture above).
Seriously they will never give you a change to go first according to the traffic rules that do NOT exist in these asian countries, except when there is a big accident that happens frequently. Then they learn the rules who is at fault in the hard way.'
Motorcycles wait for the traffic light on the zebra lanes. People who want to cross over have a difficult and dangerous job to do, especially with children.
In modern countries, people do not have to worry about other people who not want to stop their vehicles on zebra lanes.
Well in Indonesia you will get an accident, they do not understand the rules, again because they have bought the driving licences. If you complain about it then they will just say: "This is Indonesia, and you are a foreigner!". So they make themselves correct in any way that they can. But admitting that it can be better will never come in their minds.

If the traffic is jammed, people use their horns excessively every 4 seconds in the hope of the traffic going faster.
No logic whatsoever.
Since their are no penalties if someone breaks any traffic rules, they will never ever learn.
Since money talks in Indonesia, they should do this and then it can slowly , step by step becomes a safer place to ride on the road.

Social Status

Developing asian countries are very keen on status. If you have a big and expensive car, you probably get more respect on the road. In this way people with cheaper cars will make the way free for you. Rich people in general have a higher status and more rights everywhere. In Indonesia as I know it, its money talks and bullshit walks.
And doing monkeys business that happens here you get peanuts!
Some of the people i know myself will eat only rice with tempeh.

tempeh is a vegetarian soy food that has been eaten in Asia, particularly Indonesia

After a couple of months they can buy an expensive iphone, samsung android, shoes or whatever makes them feel their status has been improved to brag to their friends, family and neighborhood. The picture from the outside is very very important.

Developed asian countries

At the other hand. Singapore is a developed country. They have many ways of making everybody clear to work together in a social manner and help the country to staff efficient, clean and equal for everybody without placing one above the other no matter what the reason might be. In the picture it is made very clear what the differences in waiting a que for any kind are between Indonesia and Singapore.
Children's care in Singapore is very well disciplined and managed. Smoking on the street has specific places. In front of children nobody smokes, bavahing in que's and get punishments if you throw trash of the streets, while in Indonesia they don't care.

The only advantage of living in Indonesia is, that the food, accommodation and the general living costs are cheaper. But if you have children and you want them to grow up (in Asia) with discipline and no corruption with a high level and unlogical bureaucratic system? then let them grow up in Singapore or even malaysia which is much better arranged.

Hopefully Singapore can set an example and the developing countries people's mindset will open to stop being so selfish and work together for a better future.

But living in the past is also not an option for me. As living in the moment in Indonesia is living in the last compared with other countries

Do you actually live in Indonesia? I mean, there are soooo many unwritten traffic rules here. I do understand it seems to be chaos, but it really is not...

Yes i stay long in Indonesia on anf off. "unwritten traffic rules??". Haha, the only rule when you win a case after and accident is MONEY. There are no traffic rules that people know. people buy their driving licences, they do not get any tests. This chaos is what you can see in this blog , if you say it is not then you are sleeping. The problem is people that do not want to admit that the traffic has a big problem in Indonesia, as in many other peoples that people should face and not hide.
