God's secrets

Coca cola remains the most widely distributed soft drink, and has dominated the world of soft drink market in the 20th century. Expectedly, it has produced remarkable wealth for its producers and promoters.

To protect its success, the recipe for this refreshing drink has remained a trade secret, and many have tried in vain to break the code.

The fact is, no one can achieve the 'coca cola' feat, unless they discover their secret!

Job was a highly successful man. Before and after his trial he was the man everyone would love to be.

In our day, he could have been the head of a big family (he had 10 children!), the CEO of a multinational enterprise, a committed believer, a multi billionaire, and a highly respected statesman.

Like coke, who would not want to fit into this picture? Certainly, everyone would grab the opportunity.

Job revealed his secret in the book he wrote:

"As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle". Job 29:4

Job spent his youth searching out God's secrets.

Secrets to godliness, secrets to a happy relationship, marriage and family, secrets to a successful academics and career, secrets of wealth creation and management, secrets to solid leadership and good governance etc.

Little wonder God was happy with him!

These secrets remain the same, and are readily available to us today.

We may not become the man in the picture but we can achieve good success if we discover and practice these secrets.

They are revealed to us on the platform of a close walk with God and a diligent search of His word.

The tabernacle of great men are filled with them, so we can learn from there too.

When we discover God's secrets, we too, will achieve His success.

I shared my plans for the future with a very senior colleague and he had just one advice for me, "find a mentor in your desired field of specialty, and let him guide you".

Over the years this counsel has proven to be helpful to me and many successful people I know.

Sadly, in these days of 'selfmade' men it's becoming difficult to find youths that believe in this concept.

The youths of this wants his freedom, he desires to rule supreme over his life but life is too precious to live by trial and error.

The mentorship principle is ageless. Our ancestors recognized it in their work. They practiced it, and succeeded.

The exploits of mentorship are clearly seen in every field of endeavour.

The possibilities of mentorship is best illustrated in scripture. Just imagine this;

A poor yet wise youth is better than an old and foolish king who no longer knows how to receive instruction and counsel (friendly reproof, warning)— for the poor youth has [used his wisdom and] come out of prison to become king, even though he was born poor in his kingdom. I have seen all the living under the sun join with the second youth (the king’s acknowledged successor) who replaces him. Ecclesiastes 4:13-15

This poor young prisoner gets out of prison, and overthrows a foolish old king who neglected this vital key to success.

Nice one...

A man who was completely innocent, offered himself as a sacrifice for the good of others, including his enemies, and became the ransom of the world. It was a perfect act.

- Mahatma Gandhi
