Christian mercy: If someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. Galatians 6:1

The apostle Paul in his epistle to the Galatians spoke about the importance of living the spiritual gift of mercy (compassion, kindness, gentleness, benevolence) to edify the church and the spiritual communion between the believers in Jesus. Mercy is one of the most important gifts within the doctrine of the kingdom of God, the dominion or empire of God's perfections, together with the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion) and wisdom.
While mercy is a grace, a charism, a gift from the spirit that brings man closer to God ("Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful" Luke 6:36); in general, all human beings have this ability to act kindly with his neighbor, that is, with whom he needs help. That is why Paul insisted a lot in this gift, because also mercy is what opposes impiety, that is, the sins of hate that are the most serious.
And this mercy remembered Paul in the epistle to the Galatians, is necessary above all to correct the brothers in the faith, so that others do not be lost due to the inclinations of the flesh, with these words the apostle of the gentiles explained:
"Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ" Galatians 6:1-2.
Mercy teaches Paul helps all men to know the law of Christ, that eternal and perfect law that is beyond every human effort: "Love your neighbor as yourself" Mark 12:31. That is why being a true Christian means not to forget the excellencies of Jesus, those excellencies as the mercy that teach the Christian the true path to gnosis and eternal life, the contemplative activity.
