Jesus in the Old testament: But God does not withdraw his mercy, nor permit even one of his promises to fail. Ben Sira 47:22

The sapiential books such as the Book of Ben Sira have great importance within the Christian teaching. The sapiential books are an antecedent to the doctrine of the Kingdom of God, the dominion or empire of God's perfections, by speaking of the two paths and the two rewards, as Jesus did in the Sermon on the Mount.
But not only that, the sapiential books remember how God in his wisdom and mercy (compassion, kindness, gentleness) promised David through the prophet Nathan a descendant who would establish a Kingdom that would not be destroyed and that would remain forever, and this descendant according to the Christian interpretation was not Solomon, nor Rehoboam, nor Hezekiah, who were important kings in their time, but the Lord Jesus.
And Ben Sira taught this by showing how God is faithful despite human imperfections, Solomon had displeased God by allowing idolatry in his Kingdom through his foreign wives who had other Gods. This led to the fact that after Solomon's death his kingdom was divided into two, as God had announced to the king through the prophet Ahijah; but God preserved the Kingdom of Judah to the descendants of David, and they through the successive generations were the ancestors of Joseph, the father of Jesus.
With these words, Ben Sira remembered the pact between God and David, despite the sin of King Solomon:
"But God does not withdraw his mercy,
nor permit even one of his promises to fail.
He does not uproot the posterity of the chosen,
nor destroy the offspring of his friends.
So he gave to Jacob a remnant,
to David a root from his own family" Ben Sira 47:22.
Although Ben Sira's words in the Old Testament were not mentioned by Jesus and the disciples, his writings, reread over time, left a deep legacy in the Christian thought.
