Finding relics of the past in Germany

in metaldetecting •  5 years ago

I moved to Germany just over a year ago from Australia. As you will now if you follow me here, i am a metal detectorist. I dig old stuff from the ground. When i found out i was moving to Germany, i was super excited to be able to dig some really old things.

This was one of the first things i dug, a neat decorative buckle. I'm guessing 17-1800's, perhaps a knee buckle?

I was amazed to see it come out of the ground. Anyone have a proper ID?

Follow me and i'll post a few more finds, everything from 1500's coins, through to some cool World War II itemsbuckle.jpg
