Reebok Wants to Kick Its Way Into The Metaverse

Hey Bro,

So glad you‘re here!

As the metaverse continues to grow, including the upcoming RFOX VALT, we’re beginning to see more and more household names want a piece of the action.

International fashion powerhouse Reebok is the latest to indicate its intention to establish a presence. Will we see metaverse avatars rocking the latest digital kicks? Most definitely!

There’s no better storage method than NFTs for proving ownership of digital goods. NFTs live on blockchain networks where all transactions and transparent and verifiable.

Most likely, the sneakerheads at Reebok know Jack Squat about creating an NFT collection. That’s probably true of most brands that aren’t deep into tech. Reebok knows shoes and fashion, but do they know blockchain?

Probably not. But thanks to the VALT’s white-label NFT platform, they don’t have to! The weekly RFOX multiverse update has more info, but the announcement breaks it down even further:

“RFOX’s role in the release of the NFTs from A$AP Nast and Reebok is a key milestone in its partnership with VOID Cyber since September 2021. RFOX has issued a marquee shop to VOID Cyber to help introduce premium brands to the metaverse in RFOX VALT. RFOX and VOID Cyber previously worked together to help bring the trial NFT collection by Reebok to market earlier this year on the WAX blockchain. Now they are doing the same for NFTs, collectibles and digital wearables, as they operate a rotational collection of the worlds’ biggest brands in their virtual shop. As a result of this previous work, Reebok entrusted RFOX and VOID Cyber with the recent NFT launch, with much success for all sides.”

Only 300 NFTs saw minting. And they were given away for free. Wish I had known because the trading volume on secondary markets has surpassed $250,000 in a matter of days!

Just like last week, there’s plenty more happening at RFOX HQ:

  • 25 NFTs representing property inside the RFOX VALT gaming-themed Arkamoto Quarter are going up for auction on December 9, 2021
  • Free play-to-earn NFT game KOGs: SLAM! has an open beta program for Android users in 15 countries
  • Following up on a recent partnership, RFOX’s Lenny Clifford recently had an interview with CoinGecko co-founder and Chief Operating Officer Bobby Ong to get his perspective on the metaverse’s future

It’s fascinating to be part of this era of RFOX’s history! The caliber of partners continues to be on an upward trajectory, but we’re still so early to the party.

NFTs are barely getting warmed up, and the metaverse has yet to gain significant traction. But we both know that’s going to change in the year 2022. NFTs will continue their upward march while the metaverse gets wider and deeper.

Plus, depending on how early you are, you may even be able to bid on an Arkamoto SHOP in real-time. Do you have your $ETH ready? I’ll be bidding right there with you — best of luck to both of us.

Stay safe out there, Bro!
