DSLR Terminology(Recording Light)

Photography is basically the art of creating images by recording light. Now, you can use a traditional film camera and record light on to film, or you can use a digital camera, which records light on to an image sensor. No matter what type of camera you use, the basic fundamentals are the same, you're recording light to create an image. We take our camera, we aim it at the subject that we'd like to photograph, and then we control the light that comes into the camera with the lens, the aperture of the lens to be exact. Now how much light actually gets into the camera is only half of the process, we need to control how much light actually hits the image sensor by using the camera's shutter, and we control the shutter by selecting a shutter speed. This shutter speed is how fast the shutter opens and closes, allowing light to pass through and hit the image sensor or film plane. It's the combination of shutter speed and aperture that gives us our exposure when taking a photograph.!1.png2.png
