The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.

Michelangelo is the one who is supposed to have said "The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.." No matter who said it, it is very true!

If you don't have any real goal or a very easy to achieve goal, it takes nothing to achieve it. But, when you aim for the very hard or impossible, that is when it will take a lot of work. And imagine... if you want to run 40km and you currently only run 1km... You could set a goal of running 2km and it wouldn't be that hard to achieve, and you would be happy.

But, it would be a way bigger accomplishment to run 40km, wouldn't it? And even if you failed and only managed to run 30km, it would still be 15 times more than the goal of 2km. If you think of this in the world of finance, you are also better off with a 15x bigger result, even though your original vision was 20x more.

The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.
