Microsoft: Windows 10 impenetrable against the Petya ransom program and most of its victims are Windows 7 users

Microsoft revealed in a new report that the impact of the new Ransomware program, "Petya", was much smaller than the impact of WannaCry, a ransom program that thousands of victims left in different parts of the world.

In an in-depth analysis from Microsoft of "Petya", the company says that the malicious program launched from Ukraine with 70 per cent of the total casualties in the world.

Most importantly, the new software, Petya, which is based on the SMB gap - the same as WannaCry - with the characteristics and capabilities of software that can reproduce worms or worms, can not affect Windows 10. The victims are Windows 7 users.

Although the new ransom program was less successful than its predecessor, Microsoft did not shy away from the new capabilities acquired by the new program, where the company said there are repeated attempts to develop this malware generation after generation and acquire more powerful capabilities each time.

Microsoft has already released an update for the SMB gap in March of this year.

We also recommend the installation of Windows 10 instead of the older versions, the installation of the latest security updates from Microsoft, the importance of backing up important files, the continuous updating of other programs on the system, and the use of powerful and constantly updated protection programs.
