This is my favorite dark horse Senate race this cycle.

Beasley was the Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court. She's in one of those unique situations where she is running for an open seat and is new to politics. So she's been able to attack the status quo environment. And as a jurist she's better situated on the topic of crime.

The 2020 Senate race was pretty close. Cunningham narrowly lost to the incumbent Republican after an extramarital affair derailed his campaign in the final weeks. The Presidential race was also very close.

Probably not going to happen, but I think this is more realistic than the Wisconsin or Ohio Senate races personally.

We most likely won't know Senate control on election night.

Arizona, Nevada, and Pennsylvania just so happen to be some of the slowest states. Georgia should be relatively fast this year, but unfortunately the runoff rule means that unless a candidate gets over 50% we will not know the winner till December's runoff.

Pennsylvania doesn't allow absentee ballot processing till election day.

Nevada is especially slow as it doesn't allow reporting of results until the last voter in line has voted. And it accepts mail ballots postmarked by election day.
