Jesus and the spiritual warfare: If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. John 15:18

The Gospel of John narrates the last teachings of Jesus to his disciples during the Last Supper. After speaking to them about the spiritual help of the Holy Spirit, the spiritual communion, and the commandment of love, Jesus spoke to them about the spiritual nature of the world.
In the doctrine of the Kingdom of God, the spirit and the flesh are mentalities opposed to each other, and men have to choose between a life of righteousness and a life full of sins.
That is why Jesus warned his disciples about the rejection of the worldly people to the truths of the Kingdom of God, the dominion or empire of God's perfections. In a world where selfishness, deception and lies prevail, the truth becomes something uncomfortable; suffering more than happiness is what prevails in a world given over to the love of money. For people tied exclusively to material concerns, the fear of God, the wisdom, and the eternal life, are a reason for contempt and hidden laughter.
Accepting Jesus as personal savior is accepting the spiritual warfare between worldly realities and spiritual realities, and that is why there is no place for lukewarm Christians.
Jesus with simple words in the Gospel of John prophesied to the disciples that the Church would be persecuted for defending the Kingdom of Heaven, with these words he explained this truth:
"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember what I told you: ´A servant is not greater than his master.´ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me" John 15:18-21.
