Samsung trying to hypnotize people into forgetting TV shows

Samsung unveiled a website called Unspoil Me that claims it could be able to get people to forget TV shows, so they can watch them again like they were watching it for the first time. They claim that it could make your memory of it 'fuzzy' like it didn't even happen. Hypnosis is not like what the movies say it is I am pretty skeptical of the practice. But I'm sure it has some effect even if it is small. I'm sure the media has been using tactics like this for ages to lull people into a waking sleep and manipulate them.

The video begins by asking the listener to think of the show they’d like to forget.

Then, it walks you through 23 minutes of hypnotherapy.

A soothing male voice coaxes the listener into a relaxed state, talking through stories of nature and counting down to reach a ‘deeper place.’

It also asks the listener to envision a staircase to descend to this place, along with a ruler-style timeline upon which you can jump back and forward in time.

Eventually, the speaker asks the listener to imagine the place where they started watching that favourite series, and instructs you to jump to a spot before this happened.

Then, it tells you to look into the future – and zoom there as though you’d never watched that show.

According to Samsung, the hypnosis should essentially erase that show from your mind, making it seem ‘fuzzy.’

‘For the best possible effect you should get one night’s sleep before you watch your favourite TV series for the first time again,’ the firm explains.

The hypnosis experience isn’t just a one-time thing.

Samsung says you can repeat the session multiple times, to forget numerous shows or movies.

It doesn’t work for everyone – but, to optimize the chances of successfully being hypnotized, Samsung recommends being in an area where you won’t be interrupted, and can put all your focus on the hypnotherapy.

This means you’ll need headphones, and a tranquil environment.

According to the firm, it could help viewers appreciate their favourite series as new again.
