The most fascinating trait of the world we inhabit is the aptitude to convey the hidden truths of life in form of nature. Perhaps it is merely the human mind that labors to wreathe meaning into its own existence by sensing a pattern in the rules that govern the universe. Whatever the case, nature speaks to us with a language fathomable only to a few.
People rarely fear anything as much as they fear failure. They see failure as the finish line for all the struggle and the suffering that they have gone through to reach that point, the point where they find defeat instead of success. The truth is much more heartbreaking than this, for the truth of what destroys us is not in failure, but in despair.
Failure is like a blade that instantly pierces through your flesh and leaves your lifeless soul stranded to die. Despair is like a blunt knife that incessantly strikes you, but isn’t so powerful as to destroy or put you down. At the end of the day, everyone would prefer a quick and sudden failure to the idea of bearing despair and its patience in bringing you down. Despair is cunning; it moves slowly, but surely. In its most powerful, despair will shackle your soul to the deepest depths of existence, chained in an eternity of regret, waiting for an end in the darkness.

Do not fear failure. Fear despair.
Despair is a mistake. A simple mistake. People who do not have the light of hope in their hearts are people who have allowed themselves to predict the future. No one can predict the future.
The sequence of events presents us with an infinite possibility of outcomes, and in terms of real math and science, the likelihood of those outcomes can never be calculated with surety.
In the words of Patrick Curry, “Despair is for people who know, beyond any doubt, what the future is going to bring. Nobody is in that position.
So, despair is not only a kind of sin, theologically, but also a simple mistake, because nobody actually knows. In that sense there is always hope.”
Backtracking to what we said at the beginning of the blog post, is the idea that nature supports this assessment in a profound way. Life is a cycle of comings and goings, one of pleasure and pain, and one of darkness and light.

It is hard or even impossible to see the light in the darkness of the night, and what keeps us going is the promise of dawn. The dawn will always come, and with it, the dominion of light. Now you begin to see that while the first approach with despair is ludicrously unreasonable, hopefulness always triumphs in the laws of nature and the universe.
Those who live with the light of hope do not lie to themselves, but also prevent themselves from falling into the trap of ignorance and mistakenly predicting a future that can never be foreseen. For these people, hope is not positivity, but a fuel for their endeavors.
The most important thing that you need to understand is that sometimes we have to do things that we don’t like in order to achieve things that we yearn for. In order to succeed in this struggle, we need to employ every asset we have to make that job easier for ourselves. The path that you have set before your eyes is one of darkness, and you will need the torch of your soul to successfully chart your way through it. Have faith, for the fire of your passions will burn incessantly at the heart of that torch to endure the weight of the journey.
