A couple thoughts.

  1. I do not believe that the world we live in currently is reminiscent of 1984. 1984 was a police state; deep inside the people knew something is wrong so constant surveillance was required to make sure no one rebelled against big brother.

The world that we live in reminds me of a Brave new world. In this world, there is little need for police. The "Big Brother" no longer fears the people he governs because the mere thought of rebellion is subdued largely through the use of drugs.

  1. Language in itself is a very important tool that helps us understand the world and ourselves. What you are referring to is an ABUSE of language, which is an intentional act to make us misunderstand the world and ourselves.

    If you learn a thing or two about hypnosis, and pay attention to the TV or radio, you will find that language is being abused and used againt you.
