The Spider And Its Web

in mindset •  6 years ago  (edited)

A spider web, spiderweb, spider's web, or cobweb (from the archaic word coppe, meaning "spider") is a structure created by a spider out of proteinaceous spider silk extruded from its spinnerets, generally meant to catch its prey.

Spider webs have existed for at least 100 million years, as witnessed in a rare find of Early Cretaceous amber from Sussex, southern England. Many spiders build webs specifically to catch insects to eat. However, not all spiders catch their prey in webs, and some do not build webs at all. "Spider web" is typically used to refer to a web that is apparently still in use (i.e. clean), whereas "cobweb" refers to abandoned (i.e. dusty) webs. Which brings me to my main point;

I noticed a spider not too long ago trying to spread its web over two containers, thinking that i could stop it from going about its business, i took the containers apart and i realized it still didn't fall. Then i noticed that it had carefully constructed its web over one container and it got the support it needed from the container because it was clever to strategically place its web there.

The same thing applies to we humans, you might be an introvert or an extrovert, gentle, easy going, nice, kind but that does not stop bad things from happening. It is what you have done in the past, the foundations you have laid and the decisions you take within that period that will make or mar your life. Just like the spider that leaned on its web when i tried pulling it down, you should also have things to fall back on in your trying times, be it friends or family when life tries to pull you down.

No one can walk through this horrifying life alone. We all will need those annoying and wonderful siblings, those annoying and amazing friends to lean on and to walk through life together. There is a saying in my tribe that says No matter how successful you are, if you do not have a companion or someone to lean on in trying times, then you aren't that successful after all.
