In this session we'll take a close look at a collection of Biomes designed for Open Terrain Generator, named the Biome Bundle (v6.) I'll show you how to edit and understand the files which compose BBv6 so you can create your own worlds with special themes. The Biome Bundle can be insanely complex! I'll cover most of the hardest lessons I learned from my first time working with it.
Topics:
- installation and prerequisites, folder structure
- worldconfig.ini, biome groups, isle biomes vs. normal biomes
- bo3 objects and randomly generated custom branching structures
- treasure chests and associating NBT data
- how to locate the correct files and particular lines you want to edit
- tips to lessen server load of included resources
- cautionary notes on scale
Regular Expressions Used:
- To find a chest: "^RB(.CHEST.)"
- To find all isles of biome: "IsleInBiome: .*[ISLEBIOME]"
I stream practice sessions for my tutorials and less educational putt-around-my-server streams at twitch.tv/smellyonionman, with previews and notes @smellyonionman on Twitter. Come watch, help or suggest a demonstration!
