Mini Lathe Amateur, Episode 10

in mini-lathe •  3 years ago  (edited)

Hello, steemies!

This is the first mini lathe video that I've made since last spring. I was pretty busy with other stuff all summer and only recently got back to my miniature railroad wheel project.
In this video, I show my process for drilling out the center hole of all of the aluminum railroad wheels that I made last winter and spring. I wanted the axle hole in the wheels to all be the same size so that when I make the axles for the wheels, I can turn them all to that same size. That way, I don't have to turn every axle to custom fit each wheel. I'm going to have to make 4 axles for these wheels, and I don't want to do any more extra work than is necessary.

Here's the video. It's just short of 13 minutes long.

Thanks for checking out this post and my video. I hope you found it interesting!
