Anyone remember the good old days when Gridseed Orbs could mine a ton of Litecoin?

Going through old mining stuff I opening up a box of a few Gridseed orbs I had from a easier Litecoin mining time. These things were pretty impressive back in the day pulling 300 KHs and beating the pants off most graphics cards with much lower power usage.

You can see a little bit of dust from the long hours and abuse the miners/workers endured before being retired to an old box in the corner of the garage.

These wont mine much for you these days, but that massive copper heat sink surly has to be worth a few bucks.

They also had the option to dual mine Bitcoin, but most people stuck with the scrypt side because it used way less power and you did not have to worry as much about cooling them.

I'm so glad I didn't buy a bunch of Gridseeds back in 2014. A lot of people had a lot of them burn out but it might be because they stacked them up. I'm not sure.

Mining in Tucson was brutal. Expensive power and just amplified the brutal heat! LOL

Its not bad with a push/pull swamp cooler setup and solar to offset some of the power cost. A swamp cooler is not ideal for computer equipment/electronics but I have not had any issues. Asics are obsolete pretty quickly anyways
