⬇️ Introduction ⬇️

I know it's a very controversial subject. And if you look around in the forums, pretty much everyone says that it would never be worth it. But I'd like to show you a way to make it work.
It was important to me to use algorithms, which can only be mined with the CPU. So CryptoNight coins are out.

Long story short: its Unitus with the Argon2d algorithm.

ℹ️ About Unitus ℹ️

I'd say Unitus is a community coin. They are very active on Twitter and Discord.
They offer 5 different algorithms to mine the coin.
Lyra2RE2, Argon2d, Skein, Yescrypt and X11.
They make many promotions and giveaways.

💳 How to mine 💳

I would recommend using the official mining pool here.
There you can also find a quick reference guide for Linux and Windows miner.

And I would also recommend compiling binaries yourself if you know how to do it.
If you have any problems with Linux, feel free to contact me.

Using all CPUs doesn't always bring you the best value.
Use the -t option to see which value is best for you.
That's pretty cool, because you can still use your systems for anything else.

There is currently no possibility to mine on a Raspberry Pi or with ARM processors.

🖩 Calculations 🖩

I am mining Unitus for about 4 weeks now.
It can be said that for each kH/s you will receive about 10 UIS per day.
However, the reward per block is reduced by 1% per week.
So let's assume we got about 280 UIS per kH/s per month.

1 UIS is now worth about $0.08
So its about $22,4 per kH/s per month.

However, I expect an increase in value towards the middle of the year, as then POS for Unitus will be introduced.

Now you should only measure the current consumption and subtract it from the value. Here in Germany the electricity price is comparatively quite high and I pay about 12€ per kH/s (measured with an ammeter).

It all depends on the energy efficiency of your equipment.

More will most likely follow this year.

🏁 Conclusion 🏁

CPU mining can still be worthwhile even in 2018. Although, admittedly, it's not much. However, with a little luck the price for Unitus continues to rise.

Good luck and happy mining. 😁
