MinnowsBible #2 - Strategic Posting for minnows Part 2.

in minnowsbible •  7 years ago  (edited)

In the first post of the minnowsbible series, I talked about the need for you to constantly be in people's faces with your sensible Posts and Comments. If you have not seen it, you can read it here.

  1. In as much you want to make as many posts as you can after gathering some followers. Wait! What is your blog all about? There must be a theme to your blog.

  2. You blog must stand for something or you will confuse your followers and probably lose them if your blog has no direction.

  3. You can't (sorry you can but it is not advisable) publish a post on cryptocurrency today, fashion tomorrow and sport the next day.

  4. So as not to be too rigid, you can make a post about other topics but find a way to relate them to the theme of your blog. A lifestyle blog can post about medical topics like high blood pressure and relate it to people's lifestyles. You get the drift?

  5. My blog, for example is about achieving better life through intra personal improvement and interpersonal qualities and skills, i throw in a few poems (mostly for contest) like this one here. I also make to posts to help other minnows like this one you are reading.

  6. My followers already know what what to expect from my blog with a bit of flexibility. People that followed me mostly did because they like one or a couple of my posts. Maintaining the theme of my blog means there will be little chance of my followers unfollowing me.

  7. Be careful with resteem. Resteeming is a way of appreciating good contents and their Creators. It is also a way of showing your followers a post you like and you think they will like too.

  8. Overdoing it makes your blog looked disorganized. Now how do you feel when someone you are following keeps resteeming posts that do not interest you? It can make you lose followers quick.

  9. To keep your blog interesting and increase the number of posts you make daily, explore other options of making a post on Steem blockchain. We have dMania for funny pictures (meme), dtube for posting videos, dlive for video live streaming and so on.

  10. Know when your followers are mostly online. As a Nigerian, a good percentage of my followers are from Nigeria. Publishing a post when most of my followers are sleeping is counterproductive.

  11. I have been looking for an app that can tell me the best time to post. Leave a comment if you know one or can build one.

  12. One of the first questions I asked @lemmybe was "how long should my post be?". There is no definite answer to that as long or short is subjective.

  13. Naturally, we all don't like reading very long posts (except it was written by @surpassinggoogle ...hehe), if you realized your post is getting too 'long'. I will advise you divide and publish it in parts like I am doing with this and the previous post.

  14. If you are publishing a topic in parts, ensure you leave the links to the previous posts in the present post. Generally leaving links of your other posts is smart way of advertising your posts.

  15. Always add 'value' with your post. Also value is subjective but have a clear motive. A post teaching people about Steemit like this one and a post making people smile or laugh are both adding value depending on the audience.

  16. Check out the first post of minnowsbible series and also the part 1 of this topic

  17. Lastly, kindly upvote this post to keep this series and me going, resteem for your followers to read and leave a comment to share your thoughts or questions.

Keep on Steeming!

Good post, agree with you that we must focus on a specific direction when writing a post, something that I'm not doing at moment, ... it's so difficult to decide one way! :O
