#MINNOWSMATTER MONDAY - "THE INVESTMENT MENTALITY"

"Don't waste your time online, invest it at steemit.com"

That little quote there is a @papa-pepper original. I use it to illustrate what I believe is an important point and something that is important to wrap our heads around, especially for minnows.

THE INVESTMENT MENTALITY

For most people, "spending" time online could be equated with "wasting" time online. Other than "amusement" (which literally means not thinking) people frequently get little out of their time online, except for maybe some information. With steemit though, we have the opportunity to "invest" our time online.

Since our posting, commenting, and even voting on steemit.com can earn us cryptocurrency, we can get a ROI, and return on our investment of time, effort, energy and creativity. Once I realized this, I began investing more time, effort, energy and creativity. All it takes is signing up to get a free account, and anyone can start investing online.

As an example, once I realized that steemit was real and that we could get a real ROI, I thought about my young children. Any of us can run an alt-account, so I got one for the @little-peppers. I like to share family experiences, photos, and other things from that account, and it can even serve as a sort of "life history" for the @little-peppers when they get older.

Interestingly enough, their account has already generated 1 BTC plus over 3000 STEEM currently in their wallet. At the moment, their steemit wallet is worth over $5000 USD. Just think about that! Steemit not only gives us an opportunity to make an investment for ourselves, but for our family as well.

Now, my dear minnows, back to you. You're here, and you may not have earned that much yet. Rather than getting frustrated that your latest post earned you five cents, think of it as an investement. Without good content, you most likely won't get noticed much, but until you get noticed by others, your good content will probably not earn much. That can be frustrating if you are looking for an immediate ROI, but getting a return on your investment can take time.

Not only can all of your posts add up to eventually become a much greater amount (as long as you don't give up), the value of what you've earned already can fluctuate. If STEEM ever did go "to the moon," even the small amount that some minnows have could be worth a lot. Personally, I'd rather not regret at least trying.

You may never earn a lot here, and STEEM may never go to the moon, but the opportunity still exists. Most steemians started as minnows, and we've experienced the growing pains of slowly climbing up. If we would have quit, we would have never been able to succeed. STEEM on my friends, and invest in your lives and futures with steemit!

As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

Until next time…

Don’t waste your time online, invest it with steemit.com

If STEEM ever did go "to the moon," even the small amount that some minnows have could be worth a lot<

That's one strong point that always encourages me to continue going here on steemit. What if one day steem is 10-100 times its value right now? Your time and effort right now will surely not be in vain.

That is certainly possible. Time will tell!

Definitely...

I'll see you in the future! We'll see where STEEM is then!

Truly said @papa-pepper, time spent online with steemit is great investment...its been a long time tho"... I always enjoy your flow.

Thanks @souljay! Good to see that you are well!

I've been writing online for quite some time now, and I truly enjoy it. When I came across the Steemit platform, I said yup, this may just make it all worthwhile!

It really does make it worthwhile!

@papa-pepper thanks for this. Since I discovered steemit I hardly open my other social media accounts. Anytime I don't spend here is either invested in work or research

I never bothered coming online until steemit! LOL!

Thanks for your encouraging words @papa-pepper! I'm pretty new here and still trying to figure out the ropes. I like the idea of investing my time and have met some wonderful people which I love sharing my knowledge and experiences with. It is that hope to make more earning on Steemit that keeps me trucking on!

Oh yeah! The people are wonderful here, and I'm blessed to have met them! Thanks @porters!

Very uplifting post @papa-pepper
I'm now determinded NOT to give up. ..!!!!
Thank you.🤗

Don't give up! Upvoted for encouragement!

Thank You ..!!!!!
@papa-pepper.

Had a similar discussion earlier, it seems the more you engage, the faster you grow.
In order to grow you have to invest something, either time, money, or creativity. Even then it is still pretty slow, unless you invest a load of money.

Interestingly enough, I was frequently the human user with the most comments around here too, if that adds any evidence to your discussion and conclusion.

It does, I'm trying to figure out how @janton does it. I think he drops more comments in a week than I have in a month. I guess I have too many other projects going.

You do you, like many other areas in life, its not about what others are doing but what you do.

There are some very talented people here in each of a dozen different aspects, but you too have talent! You ROCK!

I too have had different levels of engagement over the last year, based on busyness. But it all adds up. Keep it up!

Thanks man, I'm going to do everything I can do to keep the engagement up.

I used to reply to every comment.... but eventually had to give up. Some of my favorites to not reply to include:

Nice post!

You are amazing, now follow me!

I followed you (just so you'd follow me back) PLEASE!

I see quite a bit of that going on. Considering the volume of comments you get I don't see how you could keep up. It would probably take you and mama-pepper both working on it all day. Then you wouldn't have the time to do the stuff that makes your content as good as it is.

Good point! Don't compare yourself to others, just be the best YOU that you can be!

: )

Its all we can do
just you being you
we must always be true
to that deep inside you
in the whole world are few
who are truly like you
It feels so brand new
just you being you

: )

Very motivational, something that I tend to forget about at times. Just starting this journey and looking towards the future. I know it is bright. And that comes community.

It's a blessed community besides all the potential financial stuff. I'm glad to be here and glad to be meeting others @turtlesmusic!

strongly motivate the users of steemit, especially when the steem dollar price declines with this can motivate us small fish.

Earning cheap STEEM is a great time to do it! You'll get more, and then if the price rises....

I also think the same thing with you @papa-pepper

Very good post, grateful for your motivating spirit, I am still a little fish, I hope that with the help of everyone to be able to advance ... I invite you to visit my profile and count on your support .. Thank you.

With each post and comment, you give yourself the opportunity to advance. Keep it up!

Thanks for your words of encouragement.

Talk about inspiration. I'll have to do this for mine as it seems like one hell of a starter account for them at such a young age. College if they so desire. IMO it can only go up cRyPtO's shine brighter and brighter!

Glad to hear that it inspired you!

Sometimes things get a little stale around here. And there are a lot of people who seem to be discouraged by the low prices. Those sometimes aren't the people who are going to stay and make the platform better in the long-term. Those who stay and keep going are the ones who will have a chance to see a big payday. So it makes sense to stay!

Good point. Sometimes those low dips just clean up the community a bit!

Hi pappa, after Reading the blog I think its time to enrole the next generation. Ive got 4 children and the first one we are going to subscribe now, after this reply its time to think longterm. In 15 years he Will be 21 and maybe he Will have a start to buy a house or go to college.
We must find a way to blog ..... so ThAnx for the inspiration today,
Greetsz from holland

Excellent! Just remember that the terms of service require users to be at least 13, so you can run an alt account for now and hand it off in the future! Might as well think for the future, they will be growing!

They grow up to fast said this said mum... might aswell come prepared who knows Where steemit Will be at that time 😉

Absolutely! Treasure each day, do what you can, and plan for the future!

Hmmm... maybe I should follow your lead and make an account for my Rose bud that she can take over when shes old enough.

Others certainly have. Even if we are able to make a bit for our children right now, who knows what that could eventually be one day!

Exactly shes just about five and she's been asking me for her own youtube channel Que massive eye roll here, might as well put it on Steemit, even if just I vote on hers for ten years and let her take it over its something lol

Most steemians started as minnows

Almost all start as plankton/red fish. Less than 10K have built up the million vests needed to be a minnow. Potentially though, a million vests (right now, a bit more than 493 SP) might be worth a heckuva lot if Steem moons.

I just meant that very few of us bought a large amount of STEEM to power up at the beginning. Most started at the bottom, wherever that is. Thanks @preparedwombat!

I just celebrated 1 year on Steemit. I encourage anyone thinking of giving up to: JUST KEEP POSTING!

I agree, if you quit, there is NO CHANCE of ever doing better.

Well said as always @papa-pepper. I have been here slightly over a year and every cent I have earned has been through posting every day as I do and growing slowly but surely. That’s awesome the @little-peppers account is doing so well I didn’t know of it until now so shall be over to check it out you can be sure! Thanks for being a great inspiration. 👊🌈💛🌴🦋❤️

To be at a 66 rep in just over a year is great! I know I am always impressed when I check out your content, I just wish I could get around more often!

Thanks so much @papa-pepper for your encouragement-I was never enamoured much by Facebook in fact I had a healthy mistrust for it even before it was popular to but I love steemit and it’s potential and post every day through the good times and not so good because it is all profitable to a lesser or greater degree. Gratitude not greed will see us all winners. I am blessed by your visits on the occasions you stop by that is awesomeness enough, thank you💛🌈🌴🦋❤️

Gratitude not greed will see us all winners.

Amen to that! I hear you loud and clear. Hopefully others will too!

And you meet a great community of people! Many who are really focused on helping the little guy succeed. And beyond the SBD, many people I have never met personally, have shared of their substance to help with other things in my life and ministry here. Some people I chat with almost every single day. At the same time building a blog and financial foundation to reach my personal goal of helping the people of Eastern Asian, current focus the Philippines.
Great post @papa-pepper

many people I have never met personally, have shared of their substance to help with other things in my life and ministry here

Very good point! A lot of solid believers around here, and kind and generous folks all around the world! I'm blessed to have met you brother!

You and your family are a blessing to me! One day, hopefully, face to face.

I agree! Lord willing!

Steemit is so much more than that @papa-pepper. Yes, you can earn money, but you also gain friendships with folks from all over the world. You learn from the experiences of others, share laughter and tears whether they be for joy or sorrow. Remember, you only get out of it what you invest in it, be it time, money, creativity or friendship.

Remember, you only get out of it what you invest in it, be it time, money, creativity or friendship.

Amen to that! There is so much more that we can reap from our investment here! I don't downplay that for a second, although the focus of this post was elsewhere!

Thanks so much, and by the way, **I think we nailed it on that last batch of dill pickle cucumber chips! I had to barter for some more cukes this morning, LOL!

🤣🤣🤣 So happy to hear that the dill cucumber chips worked out! So much better as treats for the kids than store bought junk food!

Absolutely! They keep sneaking them whenever they get a chance!

You may never earn a lot here ... you will certainly learn a lot here.
