UW-Milwaukee and several other universities around the country are part of a nation-wide study called the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development study, or ABCD Study for short, and is accepting students aged 9-10 for this 10-year program.
The program is taking in 12,000 students from around the US to track their health and brain development. UWM alone is taking in over 250 children, and hasn't yet reached the maximum.
If you'd like more information, you can check out the ABCD Study website or contact UWM's branch of the study. Please mention my name if you sign up as they give a referral bonus. Please also share this so they can get enough children.
They will do a variety of activities with your child, including a questionnaire, games, MRIs, etc., and phone interviews every 3-6 months. You will also answer a bunch of questions. Once a year, a follow-up visit is conducted, but MRIs are only done every other year.
They seem very flexible about accommodating participants. Food and beverages are provided. Your child will be rewarded with gifts and cash, and you will also receive cash for your involvement.
You can reach the University of Milwaukee branch of the study at [email protected].
