Minnow Support Project Moderator Meeting Minutes from 10-21-17

The Minnow Support Project started taking and keeping moderator meeting minutes in October. As part of the effort to keep our public group transparent we're publicizing our meeting minutes from October 21, 2017 that were approved yesterday for publication.

Governance Guidelines:

• Lexiconical brought up that a trank score of 20 in Discord is too arbitrary and is not a reflection on whether or not a person can be an effective mod.

• Instead of using trank 20 as a guide for a potential mod, we are going to make the qualification be people that have been visible and active here in Palnet.

• Discussed Whales and Dolphins using MSP3k

• MSP3k Comment spam - combine all comments into one

• In one week we will get the committees going

• Goal: 6,000 members by December

• Followbtcnews - suggests making a post announcing our goal for 6,000 members on minnow support

Motions:

Aggroed said that Kubby has shown that she can handle conflict quite well

There was a motion to move Kubby up to regular mod and was seconded

Stitchy asked if Kubby would be able to move forward not using her own religious background and conservatism in moderating

Aggroed said that it had been discussed and he believes she can

Kubby said she will

Motion passed for Kubby to be full mod

Stitchy says that Sammo has been moderate and pleasant lately and she has a motion to reinstate him as a senior mod

FollowBTC says that he will not second the motion until he hears from Sammo

No one else has seconded the motion

FollowBTC said that the whole discussion should be postponed until Sammo could be at the next mod meeting

Kubby put forward a motion to ban Sammo

Nobody seconded

Aggroed tabled the Sammo motion until next week

Suicide issue

We need a plan to direct people

An idea was put forth for a Suicide prevention channel that is view only

Outcome of Suicide discussion:
Follow, Aus, Kubby, Aggroed and isaria voted for a view only Suicide Prevention Data Channel
Based on Drakos’ concerns we might want a different name for the channel other than suicide because we don’t want MSP to be responsible or liable legally.
