I have got another delicious recipe for you today!!

This will be one for the mustard lovers among us..
Daaamn.. I love that little spicy, pungent, yellow sauce so much!! I could eat it everyday.
Did you know it is one of the healthiest sauces you can buy?
Of course you better watch out for the added compounds in mustard if you want to buy the healthy stuff! Without sugar and conservatives because they eliminate most of the health benefits. Check here for more detailed information on this powerful superfood.

The mustard plant is of the same plant species as cabbage. I have talked about this plant species before called “the cruciferous vegetables” and their amazing health benefits. Your first line of defense against cancer and all-cause mortalities. If you have missed the post and want to know more follow the link Pasta With White Cabbage And Smoked Goat Cheese. Why Should We Eat More Vegetables Like Cabbage?

For me mustard is always bringing up nostalgic feelings. I was always a big fan of some good old mustard on gouda cheese. What a heavenly combination that is. Mmmmm.. I ate tons of that stuff..

Nowadays my mustard craze has changed a little since I don’t eat a lot of cow cheese anymore. Now I prefer goat for different kinds of reasons. Goat cheese is so amazing on its own I don’t even dare to touch it with mustard. In fact I think I still have to try it for the first time.. maybe some day..

But nevertheless I still use it, but now in hot meals most of the time and today I want to present my favorite recipe with good old mustard to you! I am sure you will love it!

Without further ado, here comes another recipe sent from heaven..

Ingredients: (2 persons)

  • Yasmin rice (1 cup)
  • 1 Broccoli
  • 2 Carrots
  • Dijon Mustard or An Other Spicy Mustard Brand (about 5 tbsp.)
  • Big Clove of Garlic (crushed and finely chopped)
  • Fresh Parsley (a good handful)
  • Salt
  • Olive Oil
  • Water

Preparation:

  • Prepare a pot with rice, take 1 cup of rice and two cups of water and put aside.
  • Cut the broccoli in small pieces so you don’t have big lumps in the rice, and cut the carrots in half and then cut pieces of 1 cm more or less..
  • Put the vegetables in a cooking pot with a little bit of water and let it steam for 10 minutes on a medium high heat. At the same time put the rice on a high heat until the water is boiling, once boiling put the heat back on a low fire and let it boil softly until the water is completely absorbed.
  • Meanwhile you mix the chopped garlic with the mustard and add a little water to make it more like a sauce consistency, and finely chop the parsley.
  • When everything is ready you combine the vegetables with the mustard sauce, mix in the rice, parsley and olive oil and add salt to taste.

For the meat eaters if you want you can fry some pork sausages in oil and cut into pieces and mix it in the dish, but for the vegans among us, I have got something better for you..

Beans in sage infused olive oil with garlic!

If you like beans of course.. Mmmmm.. this is my favorite bean recipe!

Ingredients:

  • A Can of Borlotti Beans (or white beans)
  • 1 tbsp. of Chopped Dried Sage (fresh 2 tbsp.)
  • 1 Clove of Garlic (crushed and finely chopped)
  • Olive Oil
  • Pepper & Salt

Preparation:

  • Put a pot on the stove on a low to medium heat with a good bit of olive oil and the finely chopped sage.
Let the oil infuse for 4-5 minutes and than add the beans and the garlic.
  • Fry them or add a little water and heat them up, it's ready when the beans are hot. Add pepper and salt to taste.
  • Now serve your rice and beans together and enjoy your nice meal!

When you have tried the recipe let me know what you think in the comment section below or if you gave your own little twist to it, I am always open for new stuff and experiments..:)

Ahhh! I came to read this cuz I love mustard too, and then I saw my post at the bottom 🤘🏽🤘🏽

Awesome my friend! Well done. I am not vegan, but think the vegan version sounds better than with chicken. I actually think instead of chicken (if a meaty version is required) perhaps some crispy mince or sausage pieces would be nice.

Rsteeming because you truly deserve more followers x
