Today's message is not about death and destruction, but about--gasp!--nature. (If you're looking for death and destruction, just keep scrolling, there's no shortage of it.)
As I was fixing my rabbit's breakfast, I looked out the screen door to the patio and to my great surprise and delight, saw a rather large-ish hummingbird--which I could not identify as it happened so quickly--swoop in on my purple salvia and stick its little beak into each flower to feed.
It probably only lasted 10 seconds but it was possibly the most delightful 10 seconds of my day. When you see such a miracle, the rest of whatever bullshit telling stories in your brain falls away. Nature is the ultimate analgesic. The dove also showed up simultaneously on the balcony across the courtyard. Serendipity! Have a great Friday everyone.
