Mirza Ghalib: A Legendary poet of the Urdu language. He was born on December 27, 1797, in Agra, was a well-known poet in the Persian and Urdu languages. His original Takhallus (pen-name) was Asad, drawn from his given name, Asadullah Khan.

Today, he remains one of the most popular and influential masters of the Urdu language; he is known simply as Ghalib.
The poet showed a gift for language at an early age and was educated in Persian, Urdu, and Arabic, explains Google in its description. Ghalib navigated through these hardships with wit, intellect, and an all-encompassing love for life.

Ghalib's best poems were written in three forms: ghazal (lyric), masnavi (moralistic or mystical parable), and qasidah (panegyric).
The most famous sehra, of course, is the one penned by Mirza Ghalib (1797-1869) for a royal wedding, in which he took a dig at the emperor's Ustad, Sheikh Ibrahim Zauq (1788/9-1854).

Ghalib started composing poetry at the age of 11. His first language was Urdu, but Persian and Turkish were also spoken at home. He received an education in Persian and Arabic at a young age. When Ghalib was in his early teens,[timeframe?] a newly converted Muslim tourist from Iran (Abdus Samad, originally named Hormuzd, a Zoroastrian) came to Agra.[according to whom?] He stayed at Ghalib's home for two years and taught him Persian, Arabic, philosophy, and logic.

He says, "hum ko maalum hai jannat ki haqiqat lekin
dil ke khush rakhne ko 'ghalib' ye khayal achha hai"

(Translation: We know what's the truth, but to please yourself, this thought is good)

He died in New Delhi on February 15, 1869. The house where he lived has been turned into a memorial and hosts a permanent Ghalib exhibition.
