I have gone to work and travelled in other countries. Said farewells and see you again, multiple times. Left with a heavy heart, burdened with homesickness even before the plane takes off. And those times made me wonder about those people I have and will miss. How they came to be someone I adore.

Sometimes some people are just people in your background. Just like a static noise you can tolerate and then suddenly they can become the music you love hearing everyday. People who you never really talk to. People you thought are just there for a day. An acquaintance. A stranger. A ghost in your peripheral vision. A passerby. Transient. Flitting. They linger in the background, silent. And next thing you know, they have become a fixture in your life. That you couldn’t possibly imagine your life without them in it. You couldn’t even remember not having them in it before and you wonder if it would be the same if they weren’t. Now they are your friend. Bestfriend. Lover. Possibly your soulmate. They are practically family. And maybe they are just that. Family. A family you have chosen for yourself. A mix and match of personalities that in a very weird coincidence clashes nicely with yours. A family away from your family. A home away from home. People that sticks up with you no matter what. People that loves you as your own family does. And for that reason you love them just as much. People that you are more than grateful for. Because they are God’s gift to you just as much your blood family is. They are people who made you who you are.

Family🧡

Sometimes we don't choose our family, our family chooses us. Someone said that we gravitate unconsciously to those that we have the same characteristics, dreams, goals, feelings.

I think that’s even more beautiful, knowing that someone chose to be a part of you and you a part of theirs.
