It's well into September and classic, vintage, super and sportscars are taking to their lock ups, after one final detail applying waxes which will protect them in the Winter months, as Winter is coming.
There is a new focus, planning and strategising over project cars, we have a number of projects underway primarily retro Volkswagen cars. This is the time Show car owners determine what they think next years trends will be, colours, styles even stances.
Our project has been underway for over a year, since the oil pump failed on KR engine, mind you 179,000 isn't too bad, saying that it had had one rebuild already. Never mind, time to plan for now a new engine something that appeared standard but had more power, the ABF a 2 litre engine that runs on KR management, and fits on existing gearbox, mounts and all ancillaries, yet has better acceleration and more power.
We sourced an engine, bought a car to pick it up in and planned when we were going to get it, unluckily the day before we set out to collect the ABF. Annabelle crashed the car sliding on grass and avoiding a Landrover Discovery which was taking the centre of the road on a blind bend, Annabelle controlled the car, and practically rolled it, however she didn't using skills of evasive driving she'd been taught the car stay upright yet still scraped the face of an alloy.
she was ok yet shaken, we postponed the pick up and sourced another car in order to get the engine.
Part 2 tomorrow, thank you
