Mobile phone addiction. I've made a change...

in mobile •  6 years ago  (edited)

We are addicts to our smartphones, some resist better some give none resistance to the opium of connection.
My first phone was Sony Ericsson
K700-i

It was a gift and it changed my life but it was pure happiness at that point.
Internet ( read free porn ), messaging, camera and video, oh the wonders to the teenage life.

My second phone was Samsung L700

It was a gift from my parents for finishing double elementary school ( elementary and musical ). It had a steel plating and looked fancy other than that I wasn't happy with it, I wanted more. It was a gift though so I waited a polite period of time to buy a new phone ( not buy, to beg money from parent and brother ) :)

My third phone was Samsung genio qwerty gt-b3210

It was an ok phone and you could change the back board of the phone. The biggest change was qwerty keyboard that I fell in love with in the instant, and maybe it had few mb more for the music. Nevertheless I didn't get a chance to enjoy it thoroughly because it was stolen because I left it in the dressing room in school.

Soo it was back to basics for me :)

When my "punishment" expired I had a desire for a new phone, all that I knew is that it had to be qwerty. My brother ordered this wonder from Austria.

Samsung Ch@t 335.

It was amazing, with a new joypad and better qwerty ( by that time I became extremely fast writer in qwerty ) it was all I wanted from a phone. The feeling lasted a week :)
My mom made a contract with Telenor ( local operator company ) and then it became a blur of how many phones I changed because of the easy access I had, and everlasting hunger ( plus my brother is a freak for technology so I inherited some phones)

My first touchscreen phone was Samsung galaxy mini 2 s6500

AND HERE IT IS! a blur. I changed 4 phones from then to now, I can't remember the names, just a blur of touching the screen and going to instagram, facebook, whatsapp, viber, 9gag, various games, books, and porn oooh so much porn :) not to mention Tinder and the rest of the gang ( I haven't met anyone through that ).

So the story continues with my last phone I inherited from my older brother

Google Nexus 5

I have nothing but the best to say for this phone, a very nice phone but that's not the point. My addiction came to its peak. I became a slave. Slave of my habits, of my impulses. I suffered although I didn't know why was that. I became antisocial and depression was creeping in every corner. OOOooh and sooo much porn :D .

Then I just broke down. I went to my local phone dealer. I sold my magnificent Nexus 5. I bought this piece of crap.

Tesla feature 3

It has internet but it's shitty and I don't use it. It doesn't have android apps and I use it for calls, messages and playing snake :)
I'm less depressed, I find joy in smaller more material things, I talk to people and actually listen to them ( I study psychology oh the irony), I have more free time for other more productive things, I tend to organize my time more effectively and I am more patient generally. I got as a gift an mp4 player for music so that is also nice :)

Maybe there are more changes but I guess I will see them in time. I don't plan to stay on this phone forever because it has a shitty microphone and I still do love qwerty, but now I'm not slave of the industry anymore and I can use them differently.

My phone goal is Blackberry Classic

Even though I want this phone I want to buy it with my own money so I'm close to getting a job, I still love qwerty but I want my phone to serve my purposes not for me to serve its :)
