The Monday Drop: Dad Mode Morning School Run Activation Mode, let’s go go go! :)

in mondays •  7 years ago

I’m normally mr pick up for school runs and currently only once a week, this week it’s drop and pick up, glad that everyone is covering something, everyone has their little jobs to do and it’s all part and parcel of people doing their bit, jumping in when needs must and as required — as usual self I was concerned about traffic etc and so we were thirty minutes early, like a dead zone there so we waited around but then her friends started to poll up and she switched into school friday mode and I just kept out the way, she’s a sweetheart that one but I know when dad needs to just be out of the equation, as she becomes slowly a teenager I start to see and feel the distancing of that inter-dependant person growing.

saw bitcoin at $9700 this morning, are we going too fast?

First thing that comes into my mind is can we expect a crash? I’m not a trader but because we have some squirrelled away it’s important to keep an eye on this stuff, I know a lot of people take a bit of the top at every peak and put into other crypto, smart money I think for me would be to drop some in on ether and maybe a little in dash to be using back and forth right now — you have to remember that I don’t have funds and finances to be hodl this stuff, just using it to get paid today and to do stuff today with it — I like that flow currently, maybe in time with the increases and the smart plays I can built up finances each month over three week periods before I need to utilise that money in what I’m gonna call ‘the real world’ of bills.

I was reading this morning that people see people who just take onboard a crypto like bitcoin as speculation fools and while I understand the reasoning behind it some people are investing in crypto and digital payment purely down to access and a general frustration with other banking offerings — remember a lot of people don’t forget the financial crashes and if I can get access to funds that allow me to change my life, today, then people are gonna go for it — take even steem, while I’m powering down a little to help offset bills I’m converting that straight to bitcoin and allowing it to sit for a while, for me it’s the difference sometimes between eating and not because I’m always waiting on the online work providers to operate within their often fiat realms.

Today vs always uncertain tomorrow is mostly where I live in this virtual worker life, we can hear the slow drum beats of issues with climate, terrorism and societal indifference, we have to carve a route where we fit in or around that and be activated humans in society rather than be on a tread mill filled with regret and a negative attitude, crypto gives me a way to work around my time and resources way passed any idea of profit and financial reward, it’s just another tool in my digital tool belt to get me through today and try and plan for a tomorrow.

engage the life drive

Had a little nap when I got back from doing the dad thing, time for some eggs and coffee next, blast a few hours of cards out, head to the shop, record some screencasts and then back to writing again at the end of the day, need to push a few photos and words to @nomadpictures too, I find that I’m enjoying that little activation each day, reminds me to get moving towards a better financial total so I can buy some new software and a new 4k capable camera, gotta upgrade all of my kit to take things to the next level, always pushing for that next level — I’m compelled too! :)

Knowing that I have the capacity to earn something each day and potentially get paid for that day same day right now is really filling me with hope for the near future, I really want to get my laptop fixed which is a couple of hundred — replacing the board and putting in a new SSD drive so I have some kind of mobility (kinda trapped by fixed computer right now) and also saving for Christmas presents because it’s gonna be here before you know.

I’ve got a lot of outgoings right now and december is rolling in super fast, it’s gonna be an intense multi functional week with me needing to swap from data entry to screen casting to course building — which btw, my numbers are up on the month, stoked about that.

finding the frequency of your day.

Not sure if you have this in your job or not but I’ve been finding my frequency in the jobs I do recently, I know once I’ve finished up on this post I’m gonna jump into photos and then into cards, take a walk, grab a prescription for my inhaler (I get wheezy at nights some times) and get those steps in, perfect energy shift for recording screencast and then back to cards for the rest of the day.

I’m trying to basically achieve ten cards a day and hoping to push for some 25 card days a few times a week, I know it’s five blocks of two hour sprints that within all my other stuff can be a real push to get in as the energy and focus change in the day — I try and auto adjust as the day goes on because things can side swipe you and need attention taking you away from momentum you set, that’s just life! :)

my feeling in previous bullish runs was to fear a bit drop.. but this time oi really dont feel it. Bitcoin is on the cusp of going mainstream and I think the big money is yet to come.. So i believe a few years of massive runs and small pullbacks will happen before any massive correction..

NOTE: its often the totally opposite of what i say! haha ;_)

that's the gamble i guess. i'm gonna go a little sideways on stuff, certainly interested in more erc-20 projects and certainly steem so yeah, little bit of the top maybe ;)
