Houston, we have a problem - Part 1 (auch deutsch)

Today I just wanted to pick a reference to a lecture I studied in the past and could not find it. Yet I found all kinds of other things. And here is some of what I found.

Heute wollte ich nur einen Verweis auf eine Vorlesung heraussuchen, die ich in der Vergangenheit studiert habe, und konnte ihn nicht finden. Aber ich habe alle möglichen anderen Dinge gefunden. Und hier ist etwas von dem, was ich gefunden habe.

Eine Demokratie ist immer von vorübergehender Natur. Sie kann einfach nicht als dauerhafte Regierungsform existieren. Eine Demokratie wird so lange bestehen, bis die Wähler entdecken, dass sie sich großzügige Geschenke aus der Staatskasse selbst wählen können. Von diesem Zeitpunkt an stimmt die Mehrheit immer für den Kandidaten, der den größten Nutzen aus der Staatskasse verspricht, mit dem Ergebnis, dass jede Demokratie schließlich aufgrund einer labilen Finanzpolitik zusammenbrechen wird - in der Regel gefolgt von einer Diktatur.
