What is the hook of steemit and what keeps you here. I suggest everyone is here to be awarded for posting content. After seeing popular posts having $30k payouts. This really only creates a community of greed. So we see a mountain of spam.
I compare this to the poker machine addict always waiting for that big payout.
The truth is many posts are gamed by whales holding a lot of steem power. Like all alt currency the posts are being pumped.
If you are the lucky one the reward may pay off.
For ninety percent of people you are probably wasting time spaming memes and making make up videos. If you are a natural beauty most likely you be replaced by the next one minute of fame star.
So we see a community of greedy people all competing for the next steem dollar. A community of content theft of websites. A community of females riding on their looks while making every other female feel bad about themselves.
And whales with fortunes forming pump groups in club millionaire.
Again steemit has missed the boat on purpose to suck the energy like vampires.
No shit lol.
The first thing i actually noticed when i joined 5 days ago was the well known, the ladies and their selfies/stories or those who spam other stuff get all the up-votes. Where as all the regulars actually get jack shit, as it has been and always will be, the richer get richer and the poor stay poor.

Yeah us poor need to do something about this and level out the playing field. Maybe organise our own pump group of hundred members. And hack the shit out of this site. If interested and get a number of participates with a joining fee of steem power x amount. I am in... Power by numbers...

There was a post on bt talk about starting a group like that. But by doing that we become no better then them. But at the same time, why should the average joe poster get ignored when they post something worthy for some bitch that posts about her trips or about her day, or some tech wiz thats well know thats always got content lined up to just completely overrule and dominate the field. Or the spam of porn/model pics that are really starting to come more often.

The content creators who see the larger picture outside of the money aspect are here for the long haul. They are in no hurry to make a million. They are holding back and/or have a backlog of good content. The people who are throwing everything out there are going to take what they can and at the first chance cash out. They threw out their best and only ideas. They are not true content creators. Unfortunately, this is not going to go away. 99% of posts will be fluff. Luckily we are dealing with a small portion of the population who somewhat grasp cryptocurrency. Even fewer truly understand it. That being said, I think it is absolutely critical that everyone up vote good content and ignore the fluff.

The issue is I vote on good content to expect no reward in return. I often see the content sees 5cents of rewards after a week. I often try to make a comment of my thought also. But to continue to see 10k it seems to be rigged and unfair for those whom spent time and effort. I do not know it hard to change group think. I think it is back to my favourite forums for me... As crypto investor , I make more about listening and weighing up people views. Yeah could sit here all day and waist me time plowing the posts to collect a couple of dollars. But really it takes one small trade of ten percent with good information.

I agree with you. The content thing is messed up. I'm taking it slow cause I have other things I need to do like making a living. My time is very limited and I can't spent hours sifting through all the rubbish. It's going to take time for this thing to evolve. And I see it getting worse before it gets better. But I really do believe this kind of platform is the future. In theory, it's an ideal platform to show my art. Steemit may end up falling short but another platform will come along if it does indeed fail. I don't think the whales are going to vote down the bad popular content this early in the game. They are interested in building momentum right now. I suppose rewarding people for tits and makeup is the cost of doing business. Hopefully, things will change for the better. I'm willing to put in a few minutes every day to vote on good content. I just hope everyone will do the same and not get discouraged.
